European Master's in Translation

The MA Programme in Translation Studies of the Chair for Translation Studies is a member of the European Master's in Translation programme of the European Commission. EMT is a European network of universities whose aim is to train translators for European Union institutions.

The aim of the scheme is to introduce uniform standards for translation studies programmes in order to train highly qualified, professional translators. In order to join the EMT network, each university had to adjust its curriculum to meet the requirements established by experts cooperating with the European Commission. Each programme has to prepare the students both from practical and theoretical perspective – for example, trainees use the latest software, translate EU documents and work during internship at LSPs. The programme of the Chair was designed to fulfil all the criteria of the European Commission, which resulted in being accepted to the EMT network.

Currently the EMT network has 54 members from all around the EU; the MA programme of the Chair was the first Polish course to join the network.

The diploma of the programme is valid in all EU member states.
